For the past two and a half years, Maya Aphornsuvan (Elizabethtown College ’18) has served as the Production Assistant for Sowing the Seed. To say that Sowing the Seed was different before her tenure would be an understatement. Maya launch our Facebook page, Instagram account, and YouTube channel. She helped edit and record the first episodes of our podcast Broadcast Seeding. She helped to produce our new video series, The Outgrowth.
Followers of the blog will know that she has had quite the journey pursuing a double major in Religious Studies and Political Science. In addition to the work above, she translated news stories for Voice of America and produced a few stories in Thai for the outlet. Most recently she created a comedic Religious Studies web series called Maya Clare Cares About Religion based upon Brad Stoddard and Craig Martin’s edited volume, Stereotyping Religion (Bloomsbury 2018).
Maya graduated from Elizabethtown College in May and concluded her duties as STS Production Assistant. On Monday she’ll being a new chapter as a newsroom intern at the renown Philadelphia public radio station, WHYY.
