Grad Student Workshop–Let’s kick it in San Diego

Annual Meeting 2019, San Diego, November 23-26 AAR

The annual meetings of AAR, SBL, NAASR and a lot of other acronyms are just around the corner. And as we start to think about how we’ll navigate the conference scene this year, a lot of are asking the same question about how we do so in the larger academy. If you’re a graduate student, why not do this in a cool space?

The amazing Dr. Rebekka King and I are tag-teaming to bring you a workshop on working through the politics of academia.

NAASR Graduate Student Workshops, Sunday, November 24, 2019: Job Workshop 10am-11am; Academic Publishing 11:10am-12:10pm; Graduate Student Luncheon 12:10pm-1:10pm; Politics of Academia 1:10am-2:10pm; Alternative Careers 2:20pm-3:20pm. If you are interested in any or all of the workshops, please email NAASR VP Rebekka King at Rebekka.king@mtsu.edu to rsvp.

We’re going to share about the good, bad, and ugly that we have seen and some of the strategies we’ve learned–not just to succeed, but to do so in a way emblematic of the reasons why we went into the academy in the first place. Get inspired, informed, and get food (at the grad student luncheon before)!

Here’s the deal though. These spots are limited and flying. Make sure you get yours. If you don’t sign up for ours, do consider the others, as they are led by some fabulous people.
